eyecare

Modern life puts a lot of stress on our bodies and eyes are among the first things to suffer. But it doesn't have to be this way. Learn simple things you can do for your eye health and your eyes will feel and look much better in only a few days
Vitamins A, B and C is very essential for the good care of the eyes. Carrot, celery, parsley, spinach etc contain a large amount of vitamin A. 8 to 10 hours of sleep is a must for bright eyes.
For eye care : Splash the eyes with cold water. Apply cotton wool pads, soaked in warm milk, witch hazel, weak tea solution or rose water on the eyes. Press gently and leave for 10 to 15 minutes.

Care for Eyebrows and Eyelashes :
Eyebrows and Eyelashes should be brushed daily with a small brush. Rub eyebrows and eyelashes with olive oil or coconut oil or almond oil to encourage hair growth. For cleansing and nourishment of eyebrows, rub them with a little egg white and rinse it off after 10 minutes.

1) The best overall eye tonic is eyebright (an herb). Make a tea of it and either use the teabags or soak cotton balls or soft gauze in the tea and apply to eyes as a compress while lying down.

2) For puffy and swollen eyes, make a wet compress of 4 Tbsp. freshly grated raw potato. Place on the eyes for about 15 minutes, then rinse with cold water.

3) To reduce swelling and for bags under the eyes, brew a cup of strong rosehip tea. Soak 2 cotton balls in the tea or use 2 tea bags, lie down and place over the eyes.

4) For dark cirles, cut a fresh fig in half, place a half over each eye.

5) To soothe tired, irritated eyes, cut the end of a cumber into 1/4 in thick slices. Apply a cool slice to each eye.

6) Raw potato slices laid on sore eyes reduces heat and redness.

7) For eye puffiness, any tea bag (herbal is better, especially eyebright), slightly cooled, placed on the eyes while you rest.

8) For tired or bloodshot eyes, soak sterile cotton balls or soft cloth in cold skim milk. Place over eyes for 10 minutes. Rinse entire face in warm, then cool, water.

9) To lighten dark circles under your eyes, wrap a grated raw potato in cheesecloth and apply to eyelids for 15-20 minutes. Rinse with warm water.
Slice one small piece off of a potato, and cut the slice in half. Put each slice under your eyes and leave them under your eyes for 20 minutes.
To soothe your tired eyes place cucumber slices on eye lids while relaxing in a hot bath for ten minutes

To avoid eye strain :
Do not work in dim light

Do not read continuously in buses and trains.

Do not stare too tong at anything without blinking the eyes. Blinking provides lubrications and relief from light.

Do not rub the eyes too hard.

To give momentary relief to the eyes, close the eyes with the palms so that no light can enter. Now open the eyes in the palm cup and stare into this darkness for a minute.
