Nail Care

The nail is made of a hard protein called keratin. A protein is one of the building blocks which make up the body. The nails help protect the ends of the fingers and toes from trauma and also help us pick up small objects. Over the last hundred years, the nails have become more important for cosmetic reasons and less important for protection.

fingernails treatment:-

1) Beat 1 egg yolk in a small bowl. Soak fingernails for 5 minutes. Rinse.

2) Forget the Palmolive Madge! Make a solution of pure castile soap and water in a large bowl, soak hands and nails for about 10-15 minutes

3)Soak the hands in warm, soapy water for a few minutes to remove dirt. Clean under free edge of nail with orangewood stick.

4) The cuticle is the skin that grows from the finger onto the base of the nail (nail root). We recommend that the cuticle not be pushed back. Leaving the cuticle intact helps to prevent infection of the nail growing tissue.

5) Sometimes nail polish, dirt and bacteria can stain the nails. This can be removed by using a Q-tip or an orangewood stick with a cotton tip. Soak the cotton in 10 parts water mixed with 1 part bleach, then rub the nail where the stain is. This will remove most stains from the nails. Scrub under the nails with a nail brush or toothbrush with soap or bleach solution to remove stains under the nails.

Nail Hardening Scrub:
• 1 tablespoon of olive oil • 1 tablespoon of castor oil • 1 teaspoon of honey • 1/2 cup of shelled walnuts

1.Grind the walnuts until they are in a form of a coarse powder

2.Add to that olive oil, castor oil and honey so it resembles a thick paste

3.Rub the hands and nails

4.Rinse with warm water and pat dry

5.Use this recipe twice a week to see the results.

Castor oil greatly benefits the nails. When olive oil is added, the nails' flexibility is enhanced. Walnuts provide friction that removes the dead skin cells and at the same time replenish the skin’s moisture.

Honey is a wonderful, natural antiseptic and antibacterial agent that inhibits the growth of bacteria. It also has a high concentration of potassium which aids the hand treatment.
